Putin nudi Zvezdi novu Marakanu?

Beograd -- Izgradnja novog stadiona Crvene zvezde u vrednosti od oko 600 miliona evra bi trebalo da bude jedna od tema posete ruskog premijera Vladimira Putina Beogradu.

Vladimir Putin dolazi u Srbiju sredu, a Blic prenosi navode izvora bliskih državnom vrhu da njegova poseta ipak neće trajati duže od pet sati.

Teme o kojima će Putin razgovarati sa srpskim zvaničnicima biće i realizacija projekta “Južni tok”, moguće nove investicije ruskog kapitala u Srbiju, prodaja Telekoma i, naravno, politika prema Kosovu.

Uprkos brojnim zvaničnim najavama visoke posete, konkretniji razlozi Putinovog dolaska u Srbiju nisu poznati, osim što je očigledno da će naglasak biti na ekonomiji.

Zvezda-Zenit ipak bez Putina Iako se nezvanično najavljivalo da će Vladimir Putin posetiti Hram Svetog Save i ići na utakmicu Crvene Zvezde i Zenita, za koji i sam navija, zatim držati predavanje na Pravnom fakultetu i slično, ruski premijer će imati samo zvanične sastanke koji se završavaju ručkom kod predsednika Srbije.

Putin u Beograd dolazi iz Slovenije, gde će pričati o izgradnji gasovoda “Južni tok”, a u Ljubljani su već okačene ruske i slovenačke zastave na glavnim ulicama.

Obama's juggle: Libya war and Latin America

BRASILIA, Brazil (AP) — As American missiles struck Libya, President Barack Obama doggedly promoted his Latin American agenda Saturday, praising Brazil as a soaring economic force and brimming market for trade. Back home, his message was all but lost in the roar over the Libyan conflict.

"The United States doesn't simply recognize Brazil's rise; we support it enthusiastically," Obama said from this capital city as he launched a five-day outreach mission that will also take him to Chile and El Salvador. He began in Brazil as a sign of solidary between the two largest democracies and economies in the Americas, and he sought to break through here with his themes of bold cooperation on energy, education and trade....

Writers and Software and Laptops -- Oh, My!

Get The Equipment You Need, Without Spending Too Much!



There comes a time in every court reporting student's life when they have to make a decision on what I like to call The Good Stuff: Writers, laptops, and software (oh, my! ). I have put this together (by request) to assist my fellow students in navigating through treacherous waters in their search for these vital items.

Selection of writers and laptops often depend on the software you wish to use ... so make sure you make your selections accordingly!

What to Look For in a Writer

This one is easy: A good price, a good warranty ... and something that still has parts available for it. This last requirement is very important. Case in point:

A few years ago, Stenograph went through what I like to call its Borg Period: a period in which they basically bought out (or "assimilated," staying in that Borg vein) all of their competitors (Xscribe, 1996, among others). They then offered support for the now orphaned writers (they had the parts, after all), and a discount to have these new (albeit unwilling) suckers -- er, customers -- upgrade to Stenograph's latest machines.

Those customers that resisted this offer and kept their old writers were recently informed that support for their machines was soon coming to an end .

"Resistance is futile," indeed ...!

So, when looking for a writer, avoid anything made by Xscribe (models include StenoRAM Ultra, the Vision, and StenoRAM III+).
